GAGLIANO & KRATCHMER WIN MUSKIE COUNTRY™ OKAUCHEE EVENT
Lake Okauchee was the second event of a Muskie Double Header™ weekend for the Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ (MCTC™) on Sunday May 19th that finally ushered in warm spring temps that was a welcoming change for all of the competing anglers but wasn't well received by the resident muskies as the fishing could only be described in one word…"TUFF"!. Only two muskies would be captured for the day.
The warming water temps didn't improve the attitudes of the muskies very much as it took until 9:02 in the am for the first muskie to be active enough to succumb to a competitors offerings when the team of Tom Wachowiacz and Brian Mandelin scored on a 35.50 incher. The second and final muskie would be scored by Scott Gagliano and Mike Kratchmer at 11:02am and because it was the bigger of the two muskies measuring 37 inches, would give the team the victory.

The next scheduled Muskie Country Tournament Circuit™ weekend is scheduled for the first weekend of June 1st and 2nd on Butternut Lake, Saturday and the Phillips Chain of Lakes the following Sunday. There are still open spots for both events. If you haven't already signed up for the tournament(s) you can sign up for one or both tournament(s) on the Friday night, May 31st , before the tournaments at the Great Northern Pines Resort on the east shore of Butternut Lake on Lake Shore Drive from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. If you intend to sign up for just the Phillips Chain, sign up is at Harbor View Restaurant in Phillips on HWY 13 from 5:30pm to 6:00pm.
